Scholarships

Awarded to an Innis College student who demonstrates financial need and excellent academic achievement. The recipient is in Full time study and has completed at least five full course credits and no more than thirteen full course credits. The recipient will be selected for their volunteer work outside the university.

Innis College has a modest fund to help students in individual financial stress during a Fall/Winter Session. Domestic students can apply anywhere from early September to mid-March by using the U of T Grant Application, which can be found on ACORN. International students can email the Innis College Registrar's Office at registrar.innis@utoronto.ca to request a paper copy of the application. For domestic and international students, an appointment with our financial aid counsellor is required after submitting an application.

To be awarded to full- or part-time graduating Innis College students who have achieved a CGPA of at least 2.7 and have also distinguished themselves by their active participation in the College. No more than one percent of the College population will receive recognition awards.

To be awarded to a continuing registered refugee student at Innis College in the Faculty of Arts & Science on the basis of financial need and as determined by the Principal of Innis College. This fund has been established to help refugee students (particularly WUSC students) as they continue beyond their first Fall/Winter academic session at Innis College.

To be awarded to an outstanding first-year Innis College undergraduate student not living in the Innis Residence in the Current students academic year who is an emerging leader. An emerging leader is self-motivated, inspires others, demonstrates initiative resulting in community-building, takes inclusion action that values and respects differences, and acts as a caring and responsible citizen of the Innis College community, especially outside the Residence. While applications are not required, potential recipients are nominated by undergraduate peers registered at Innis College. These nominations will be reviewed by the Innis College Student Society (ICSS) Executive, the Assistant Dean, Student Life, and the Dean of Students and Residence, who will, together, make a recommendation to the Recruitment, Admissions, and Awards Committee (RAAC) of Innis College Council.

To be awarded to an outstanding Full time, first-year undergraduate student living in the Innis Residence in the Current students academic year who is an emerging leader. An emerging leader is self-motivated, inspires others, demonstrates initiative resulting in community-building, takes inclusive action that values and respects differences, and acts as a caring and responsible citizen of the residence community. Recipient may be a first-year student from the Faculty of Arts and Science or from a first-entry professional faculty. While applications are not required, potential recipients are nominated by undergraduate peers in the Innis Residence. These nominations will be reviewed by two members of the Innis Residence Council (IRC) Executive, the Assistant Dean, Student Life, and the Dean of students and Residence who will, together, make a recommendation to the Recruitment Admissions and Awards Committee (RAAC) of Innis College Council.

To be awarded to a Full time, undergraduate student at the Faculty of Law taking the highest grade in class in Bankruptcy Law.

This award is disbursed as part of the University of Toronto Financial Aid (UTAPS program). To be awarded to a Full time, undergraduate student of Commerce at the University of Toronto on the basis of financial need and academic merit in the Faculty of Arts and Science. (see Note 2)

To be awarded to a student proceeding to Second, Third or Fourth Year of any undergraduate program on the basis of the following: (1) Student must demonstrate interest in biomedical engineering (i.e. pursing a major in Biomedical Engineering Systems or a minor in Bioengineering; (2) Involvement in any area of community service and/or extra-curricular activities not just those related to biomedical engineering; (3) Students must have a minimum overall program average of at least 80% in the year prior to qualifying for the scholarship
