Scholarships

Erast Huculak was born in Ukraine in 1930. He immigrated to Canada in 1948 and despite linguistic and other challenges, completed his degree in Pharmacy at the University of British Columbia. Moving to Ontario, he founded and presided over Medical Pharmacies, a retail pharmacy chain that soon became one of the largest providers of pharmaceuticals to Long Term Care in Canada. His professional success enabled him to engage in many humanitarian and philanthropic endeavors for which he was recognized with numerous awards, including three Honourary Doctorate degrees and in 2006, the Order of Canada. While never forgetting and always helping his native Ukraine, Erast frequently expressed his appreciation for the opportunities Canada provided him and vigorously advocated for giving back to community and country

Awarded to students in Third or Fourth Year of Chemical Engineering who have shown the potential to become outstanding leaders, and to inspire others to action and to excellence. This may be demonstrated in a number of ways, including participation in student councils, or clubs, community organizations, cultural groups, or athletics.

Awarded to Victoria College students in the Humanities who have obtained at least a B standing (GPA 3.0+) and who have made a positive contribution to the life of Victoria College and the community. (Not offered 2022.)

To be awarded to (a) Full time, undergraduate student(s) at the Faculty of Law on the basis of financial need.

Awarded to a student proceeding to Second, Third, or Fourth year in Mechanical & Industrial Engineering who has faced challenges with dignity and perseverance.

Awarded to a gifted student on admission to the first year of any program in the Faculty of Music.

From the Estate of Dr. Eric Kruh (UC???46). This merit-based undergraduate scholarship will be awarded to the top graduating University College student who has been enrolled in a modern languages and literature program. Eligible students are automatically considered

Awarded to a student who has completed the Third Year of any program in the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering on the basis of financial need. Academic standing and a demonstrated involvement in University and/or student government will also be considered.

To be awarded to one or more Woodsworth College students in Humanities who have completed at least 6 courses and who demonstrate financial need. Academic merit will also be considered.

Dr. Donald B. Rix has established this award in honour of his father, Ernest Martin ???Cappy??? Rix, a graduate of the Class of 2T7. This bursary will be awarded to Second Year Doctor of Pharmacy students who demonstrate financial need. Information on application procedures will be provided to Doctor of Pharmacy students via e-mail in late September.
