Lorna Marsden Award

Awarded to the student graduating from a Specialist program in Sociology on the St. George campus who has received the highest cumulative grade point average. The award will be split in the case of a tie

Lorne Tepperman Prize in Public Sociology

Awarded to the undergraduate student submitting the best paper on a topic of social significance in Canada at the time of submission, as chosen by a committee. The paper should be written for a general, nonacademic, audience, may not exceed 1000 words in length, and must be based on a paper submitted for credit the same year in a sociology course on the St. George campus.

Lou Cole Memorial Award

To be awarded to an incoming first year medical student on the basis of financial need and academic excellence. Preference will be given to a student who exemplifies Dr. Cole???s lifelong dedication to learning, to patient centered care and to teaching. The award is renewable for 4 years. Award applications will be available in August.

Louis and Lisa Cheng Scholarship in Art History and Visual Studies

To be awarded to a 2nd or 3rd year student who is enrolled in a Specialist or Major program in the Department of History of Art in the Faculty of Arts and Science or in Visual Studies in the Faculty of Architecture. Financial need must be considered. The recipient must also have a high GPA of 3.3 (B+) as well as demonstrate involvement in the community.

Louis M. Schwartz Prize for Near Eastern Literature
