Established by Hari Shanmugadhasan (UC???78) and matched by IBM Canada. The awards are to recognize the best University College students enrolled in the Mathematics Specialist Program. The awards are variable in number and value. The primary criterion on which awards will be based is financial need. Apply using the online grant application available on ACORN.
The Garnet W. McKee - Lachlan Gilchrist Scholarship in Engineering Science
Two Scholarships available: The First Scholarship and the Second Scholarship to be awarded to the students who have completed Second Year in Engineering Science and achieve the highest and second highest aggregate averages in First and Second Year of the program.
The Garnet W. McKee - Lachlan Gilchrist Scholarship in the Faculty of Arts and Science
Awarded to a student enrolled in the Specialist Program in Geophysics. If there is no eligible candidate, awarded to a student enrolled in 300/400 series courses in Earth Sciences and Physics (including joint courses).
The Geoffrey Patten Baker Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a UTM student with the highest Cumulative Grade Point Average graduating with a Specialist in Commerce.
The Geoffrey Samuel Gangbar Memorial Scholarship
To be awarded to a student or students who have demonstrated special merit or achievement in hematology, immunology or related fields. If no suitable candidate is nominated in any one year, multiple awards may be made in succeeding years.
The George A. Guess Memorial Fund
Awarded to student(s) entering or continuing in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering on the basis of academic merit.
The George Brown Scholarship for Modern Languages
To be awarded for proficiency in Modern Languages. Eligible students are automatically considered.
The George Kennedy Scholarship
Awarded to a fourth year, outstanding graduating student, with an A average, whose program includes at least three full course equivalents in Philosophy. Students taking more than one full course equivalent in English or History in their final year are not eligible.
