Sydney Hermant Scholarship/Bursaries

The Sydney Hermant Admission Scholarship/Bursary is to be awarded to a student who combines academic potential and financial need with community interest and social involvement as demonstrated at the high school level. This scholarship, given in honour of Sydney Hermant by his four sons, is to provide support of an all-round student in the first year of University study. The selection of such a student to be at the sole discretion of the Principal of University College. Eligible students are automatically considered.

Sydney Shrott Award

Medical Pharmacies Group Limited established the Sydney Shrott Award to honour the retirement of one of its owners. Sydney Shrott has been a respected visionary and innovator in the profession of pharmacy for 58 years. Together with his partners, and with a consistent focus on people, he developed and operated 34 clinic pharmacies and became the largest provider of pharmacy services to long term care homes in Canada. This award is a tribute to his continuing dedication to developing strong pharmacy leaders.

Syed and Rafat Ahmed Award in Finance UTAPS

This award is disbursed as part of the University of Toronto Financial Aid (UTAPS program). To be awarded to a Full time, undergraduate student(s) in the Specialist Program in Management and Finance (Bachelor of Business Administration) from the University of Toronto Scarborough, on the basis of financial need with preference given to students with academic merit.

Sylvia Beck Memorial Award

Half of the annual income from the endowment will fund one in-course award for students enrolled in the African Studies Program. Preference will be given to students in the major or specialist programs. The balance of the income will support one or more students enrolled in formal exchanges, internships or service-learning initiatives in continental Africa.

Sylvia Crossley Prize in Music History & Literature

Sylvia Woodsworth Campbell Bursary

Awarded every two or three years to a female student of Kwansei Gakuin University, Nishinomiya, Japan who is a participant in the student exchange between that university and the University of Toronto and who registers at Victoria College.

Sze Pang Nien Memorial Scholarship at the University of Toronto

To be awarded to an incoming undergraduate student to the BScN program based on academic merit, with preference given to a student with financial need.

Szechenyi Society Inc. Undergraduate Scholarships in Hungarian Studies

Awarded to students taking a minimum of one Hungarian Studies language course on the basis of financial need and academic merit.

T Christie Arnold Scholarship

Awarded to a student proceeding to Fourth Year of Industrial Engineering on the basis of financial need. Recipient should be recognized for engineering management, good academic achievement, and particular ability and creativity in their course work. As well, recipient should be a well-rounded student involved in extra-curricular activities, i.e. athletic involvement with varsity sports.
