Scholarships

 

Scholarships provide crucial financial assistance to students based on various criteria such as merit, need, demographics, geographics, and specific fields of study. They differ from grants and bursaries in terms of eligibility, application process, and coverage. Scholarships are typically awarded based on academic or other achievements and do not require repayment, making them a valuable resource for students seeking financial support for their education.

Lesra Martin Student Changemaker Award

To be awarded to an outstanding full- or part-time Innis College undergraduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Arts & Science. To receive the award, the recipient can be either a returning or a graduating Innis College student. Recipients must be In Good Standing (CGPA of 1.5+). Strong preference will be given to Black student applicants. Recipients are those who effect change for Black lives using creative and innovative scholarship and/or co-curricular activity. Examples of scholarship could include digital social media projects, academic submissions, artistic installations, music compositions, and films. Examples of co-curricular activity could be the formation of a club, student programming initiatives, and/or equity and outreach efforts.

Lester Bowles Pearson Scholarship I

LGBTQ Students Scholarships and Awards

Recipients will be chosen by the Sexual Diversity Studies Awards Committee in consultation with the UC Registrar. Awards shall be distributed to undergraduate and/or graduate student(s) who identify as LGBTQ or pursuing studies with a focus in sexual diversity at the University of Toronto. Decisions are at the discretion of the SDS Awards Committee and may be awarded to students for a variety of reasons including: merit based scholarships; unforeseen education expenses; needs based bursaries; leadership and research awards; or other student aid needs as determined by the Committee. Scholarships and awards will be given to students without regard to students??? college membership, faculty or campus. Eligible students are automatically considered.

Lieut. Geo. R. Parke, Phm.D., Memorial Scholarship and Medal

A medal in memory of the late Lieut. Geo. R. Parke, phm.b. (Class of 1910???11), is awarded to the Doctor of Pharmacy student who stands first in First Class Honours at the annual examinations of the Third Year.

Lightstone & Hainsworth Bursary

Richard Hainsworth is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto (Class of 5T7). This bursary will be awarded to a minimum of two students in Year 4 of the Doctor of Pharmacy program on the basis of financial need, who have achieved First Class Honours in Year 3. Information on application procedures will be provided to Doctor of Pharmacy students via e-mail in late September.

Lilian Fitzmaurice Foundation Awards

The awards are to assist students studying in the humanities, preferably in the various branches of classical or modern European literatures, fine art, music or philosophy. Financial need will be the primary criterion in selecting recipients. Academic merit may also be considered. Awards will be variable in number and value.
