The Doctor John McCulloch Bursary
To be awarded to students in any year of the Medical programme who are in need of financial assistance. Grant and bursary applications will be available in late August.
THE DOCTOR K. J. R. WIGHTMAN AWARD IN INTERNAL MEDICINE
To be awarded to the student with the highest standing in Internal Medicine.
The Don Salt Memorial Scholarship
There will be one scholarship awarded to a student in third year, with the second being awarded to a student in fourth year.
The Don Wright Scholarship Fund
Awarded to a student entering the first year of any degree program; preference will be given to an instrumentalist who intends to complete the Music Education degree program.
The Don Wright Scholarship Fund
Awarded to a student who demonstrates accomplishment in the field of Music Arranging or Jazz; preference will be given to a student in the Music Education program.
The Donald G. Ivey Scholarship in Physics
To be awarded to New College students in the Faculty of Arts and Science or the Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering for outstanding achievement in Physics. Candidates in the Faculty of Arts and Science must be enrolled in the Physics Specialist, or Physics Major Programmes. Preference will be given to students with overall "A" standing (i.e. a GPA of 3.50 on the five most recent courses) who have completed the second or third year of a Physics programme. In the absence of a suitable candidate in second or third year, however, the award may be made to a student who completed his/her first year and intends to enrol in a Physics Programme in second year.
The Donald S. Macdonald Internship Scholarship
Awarded to one or more undergraduate students enrolled in the Peace, Conflict and Justice program at the Munk School of Global Affairs, based on academic merit and participation in an internship program/placement with government, non-governmental organizations and the private sector. The Donna Zielinski Memorial Scholarship in Commerce and Finance
Awarded to a female student who is entering her final year in a Commerce Specialist program based on financial need and academic performance.
The Doris May Barker Scholarship
Awarded to a student who is enrolled in a Specialist or Major program in Spanish and who is studying in a Spanish-speaking country during winter or summer session. Student must have completed two courses in Spanish at the 200 level or higher. Financial need and academic merit must be considered. Preference will be given to students who have not previously won the Buchanan Scholarship. Please contact the Department for an application.
